XXXX-EXTRA represents BIG JOHN’s pursuit of Japanese denim craftsmanship at its highest level. Cotton, yarn, natural indigo dyeing, weaving, sewing, and hardware have all been carefully selected and developed in Japan.
The result is a premium pair of Made in Japan selvedge jeans combining 15.8 oz denim, 100% natural indigo rope dyeing, organic cotton, and a clean slim straight silhouette.
These jeans are washed once after being made from raw denim, removing most of the initial shrinkage while preserving the deep indigo color and character of the fabric.
Compared with untreated raw denim, they feel more comfortable from the first wear. With continued wear and washing, the natural indigo will gradually develop distinctive creases, contrast, and fading.

The jeans have already been washed once to remove most initial shrinkage. Unlike untreated raw denim, they should not experience major first-wash shrinkage, although slight dimensional changes may occur depending on future washing and drying conditions.
