XXXX-EXTRA represents BIG JOHN’s pursuit of Japanese denim craftsmanship at its highest level. From cotton and yarn to indigo dyeing, weaving, sewing, and hardware, every element has been carefully developed in Japan.
The result is a pair of premium Japanese selvedge jeans built around distinctive 15.8 oz denim, 100% natural indigo rope dyeing, and carefully selected organic cotton.
These jeans are made from raw denim and washed once before sale to remove most of the initial shrinkage. The RINSE / ONE WASH finish preserves the deep natural-indigo color and character of raw denim while making the jeans easier to wear from the first day.
With continued wear and washing, the denim will gradually develop individual creases, contrast, and natural indigo fading.

Natural indigo will fade and may transfer color through wear, friction, or washing.

The jeans have already been washed once to remove most initial shrinkage. Unlike untreated raw denim, they should not experience major first-wash shrinkage, although slight dimensional changes may occur depending on future washing and drying conditions.
