HIMEJI LEATHER ORIGINAL BELT

Located in the southwestern part of Hyogo Prefecture, Tatsuno City has flourished as one of Japan's leading leather-producing regions, thanks to its abundant rivers. The city is currently famous for having the highest leather product production in Japan. The art of leather crafting in this area dates back to the Kamakura period, with numerous important techniques passed down through the generations. Today, over 200 factories—ranging from large facilities to small workshops—are located in the area, producing a wide variety of leather goods. Many tanners from this region have earned accolades in leather contests both domestically and internationally, making it a well-known area among leather enthusiasts.

 

Original brass buckle

Brass is a metal that has been continuously loved by people from both the East and West since ancient times. With use, its color deepens and develops a unique patina over time. This enchanting metal inspired the creation of the BIG JOHN original brass buckle, designed with the aspiration to produce a unique, substantial buckle that can be cherished for a long time.

 


The buckle is crafted by pouring molten metal into a sand mold, then cooling and solidifying it. After removing it from the mold, the burrs are polished off, and it undergoes specialized processing... It is a masterpiece crafted through various processes, artisans' skills, and traditional techniques.
