2023 marks a monumental milestone in the world of denim - the 50th anniversary of Japan's very own BIG JOHN Jeans, a brand that pioneered the first pure Japanese-made jeans model back in 1973. Honoring half a century since their inception, we've crafted a special pair of jeans, using the same legendary denim fabric that made history.

For this golden anniversary, we've created a unique design blending BIG JOHN's vintage and current logos with a world map, boldly printed across the fabric in an all-over pattern.

Fabric

• 100% Cotton Selvedge Denim
• Crafted from KURABOU 14OZ SELVAGE DENIM, each piece undergoes a meticulous three-color hand-dyeing process in a Kyoto dyeing factory. Every piece is individually patterned and hand-cut.
• While sizes may slightly vary, our pattern makers and planners have thoughtfully considered part positions, dedicating time to perfect each piece.
• The fabric is rigid (raw) but has undergone Sanforization (pre-shrinking), minimizing shrinkage.

Sewing

• Crafted with traditional, basic sewing techniques, using the same heavy 8-number thread (core) popular in the 1970s.
